I Can't Say Enough About This Awesome Movie

Whether you are hanging with the girls or looking for a funny movie to watch with your man, you will certainly enjoy Bridesmaids. On the surface, this film is about two women, a maid of honor and a bridesmaid, who are in an all-out war over who is the better friend of the bride. On a deeper level, it is about women, our fundamental nature to compete with one another, and how real friends can go through just about anything and still be friends when it is over. On an entirely superficial level, it is about the hot mess that can erupt when best friends turn on each other at a critical point int heir lives. This is one of my favorite movies because it is full of some of the best female comediennes in Hollywood.

What Bridesmaids is All About

In the movie, Annie Walker (Kristen Wiig) is a recently unemployed, talented pastry chef who feels like her life is quickly going down the toilet. She loves her best friend, Lillian (Maya Randolph), but their friendship is put to the test when Lillian gets married. It's not just jealousy that tries their friendship. In fact, it's Lillian's new friend, Helen (Rose Brynn), who irritates Annie enough to risk her lifelong friendship with Lillian. The problem is Helen constantly tries to outdo Annie, and being that Annie is in such a sad stage of her life, she simply can't handle the threat of Helen taking Lillian away from her. As a result, Annie sets out to win Lillian's attention and ends up making a fool of herself in the process.

A Top-Notch Comedienne Cast

In addition to SNL alum royalty Kristen Wiig and Maya Randolph, this film also stars the comedic genius of Rebel Wilson, Jill Clayburgh, Wendy McLendon-Covey, Ellie Kemper, and Melissa McCarthy. The scenes that include all these women at the same time are some of the best comedic scenes I have seen in a very long time. In fact, nearly every woman out there probably has friends just like these women, which make it a great movie for any women to relate to.

To see if Annie and Lillian can stay friends through the wedding planning, you have to check out Bridesmaids on DVD.

There Won't be a Sequel to Bridesmaids

With a fantastic female cast and incredible success at the box office many assumed there would be a Bridesmaid sequel. However, it appears there won't be. Well, at least there won't be one that stars the same cast as the original. The star of the movie, Kristen Wiig also wrote and directed the original Bridesmaids movie. She has said on multiple occasions that she will not pen a sequel to the original. There have been reports that the studio may try to go on without her, but Wiig's funny female co-stars have stated they would have no interest in doing a sequel without her. So, after everything is considered, it does not appear there will ever be a Bridesmaid 2.
